Sediment Fences, Required Erosion Control for Active Construction Sites

A sediment fence (also called a silt fence) is a temporary barrier of filter fabric staked along the downslope edge of a disturbed area. It slows runoff, allows water to filter through, and traps sediment before it leaves the site. Required on virtually every permitted construction project in Florida.

We install sediment fences to meet FDEP and local stormwater permit requirements. Proper installation means the fabric is trenched into the ground, not just staked on the surface, ensuring it holds under heavy rain and doesn't blow out or undercut.

Beyond compliance, sediment fences protect neighboring properties, drainage ditches, and waterways from construction runoff. We install, maintain, and remove silt fencing as part of our full site preparation and erosion control services.
