Integrity at every level

Culverts Allow Water to Flow Under Roads, Driveways, and Embankments
A culvert is a structure that allows water to flow under a road, driveway, or embankment. We handle everything from new installations to full replacements, across all pipe types, materials, and end treatments.
Culverts are essential for managing water flow across driveways, roads, and properties. Level One Grading specializes in culvert installation, replacement, and repair to ensure proper drainage and prevent flooding.
We install all types of culverts including concrete, metal, and plastic pipe culverts sized appropriately for your drainage needs. Our installations meet local regulations and engineering standards.
From residential driveway culverts to commercial drainage systems, we provide complete culvert solutions including excavation, installation, backfill, and restoration.

Culvert applications
Concrete apron
A flat concrete slab placed at the inlet or outlet of a culvert to prevent erosion, stabilize the pipe end, and guide water flow smoothly into or out of the...
Concrete mitered end
A precast or poured concrete end section that matches the slope of the embankment. It reduces headwater buildup and gives the culvert a clean, slope-flush finish.
New culvert installation
Full installation of a new culvert where none previously existed, includes excavation, grading, bedding preparation, pipe placement, backfill, and compaction.
Culvert replacement
Removal of a failed, undersized, or corroded existing culvert and replacement with a new pipe, restoring proper drainage and structural integrity.
Driveway installation
Culvert placed beneath a driveway crossing over a ditch or drainage channel. We install with asphalt, gravel, or concrete driveway surfaces depending on your needs.
Pipe arch culverts
A flat-bottomed, arch-shaped pipe used where vertical clearance is limited. Provides a wider waterway opening than a round pipe of equivalent area, ideal for shallow-cover installations.
Culvert types by material
CMP / CSP
Corrugated Metal Pipe or Corrugated Steel Pipe. Lightweight, strong, and widely available. Common in roadway drainage and farm crossings. Can be galvanized or coated for corrosion resistance.
RCP
Reinforced Concrete Pipe. Heavy-duty and long-lasting, used in high-load or large-diameter applications. Resists corrosion and handles significant soil pressure, preferred for municipal and highway work.
HDPE pipe
High-Density Polyethylene. Flexible, lightweight, and corrosion-proof. Handles ground movement well and is easy to transport and install. Common in residential driveways and smaller drainage runs.
PVC & ADS N-12
PVC offers smooth walls for efficient flow in smaller diameters. ADS N-12 is a dual-wall plastic pipe, corrugated outside for strength, smooth inside for flow, widely used in storm drainage.
Common sizes
12" 15" 18" 24"
Standard round culvert pipe sizes for residential and light commercial applications. Size selection depends on drainage area, flow volume, and local code requirements.
13" × 17" 15" × 21"
Elliptical culvert pipes for applications with limited vertical clearance. Provides greater flow capacity than round pipes of similar height.
